Ultra-Luminous (UL) Advantages & Disadvantages
Advantages of Ultra-Luminous technology
- Unlike Asian luminous products, Ultra-Luminous contact lenses and sunglasses are manufactured in the USA using a professional optical lab which uses FDA rated equipment and dyes, etc. In addition, ALL Ultra-Luminous contact lenses are custom made for YOUR eyes based upon YOUR prescription information to insure a proper fit.
- You have control over the intensity of the marks simply by diluting the Ultra-Luminous solution / ink. This is a major advantage over pre-marked luminous cards.
- Ultra-Luminous daub/dust, also, allows the user to control the intensity of the marks. In addition, UL dust, also, allows customers to have some control over the longevity of the marks on the cards.
For example, Some customers want the daub/dust marks to be VERY long lasting, so the marks last for days or weeks or months. Other customers find it desirable to have the evidence of the marks disappear after 5-8 hours of use, to prevent detection when the cards are left behind. Depending upon how the Ultra-Luminous daub/dust is applied to the cards, the marks may be VERY long lasting or the marks can disappear after several hours of use. The choice longevity may be controlled, to some degree, by you :-)

- While based on luminous technology, Ultra-Luminous (TM) daub/dust uses VERY different chemicals to increase it's deceptivens and ease of use. The UL chemicals are finely tuned to be used with Ultra-Luminous (TM) Shade sunglasses or contact lenses.
- Similar to Ultra-Luminous daub/dust, the Ultra-Luminous (TM) Solution/Ink is not the same as the "regular" NU-CONcept Luminous Solution and is based on slightly different scientific principals. These differences are important because Ultra-Luminous customer's would not want their marks detected by using "regular" luminous sunglasses.
- Ultra-Luminous (TM) daub is really a "dust" based product. Professionals know that most daubs, which are paste based, will tend to dull the finish of playing cards. Hence, Ultra-Luminous daub was formulated to use state-of-the-art "dust" technology which will not dull the finish of your cards. Hence, Ultra-Luminous marks can not be detected if someone tries to use the "Light test" or "Gambler's Riffle test".
Daub and/or "dust" technology has the advantage of being able to secretly mark cards right in front of a spectator, without their knowledge AND by using their borrowed deck.
Ultra-Luminous (TM) dust is placed on the tip of your finger. You then rub and press this finger on "previously determined" strategic locations on the playing cards. (The NU-CONcept manuscript is full of color photographs to give you marking pattern ideas which you can mix and match.) Once the cards are marked, the marks can only be seen on the card when using Ultra-Luminous contact lenses or sunglasses. |
The fact that you can use Ultra-Luminous chemicals to mark the white borders of playing cards, as well as paper or plastic playing cards with different color back designs, is a major differentiator between Ultra-Luminous (TM) Shade and the less expensive "Regular" NU-CONcept Luminous Solutions.
Disadvantages of Ultra-Luminous technology
- Ultra-Luminous (TM) Shade solution/ink is ONLY available in a jar and is applied with a brush or Q-tip. A marker/pen applicator is not available.
- Ultra-Luminous chemicals will only be sold to customers who have already purchased real Ultra-Luminous contact lenses or sunglasses. All customers will be provided with a serial number printed on the bottom of each page of the NU-CONcept manuscript for tracking purposes. Therefore, when re-ordering UL chemicals we will ask for the serial number because NU-CONcept does not maintain a list of customer names and the products they purchased for security purposes.
- I am not sure if this is an advantage of disadvantage because professionals tend to prefer light and subtle grey marks with the flexibility to control the mark's intensity on the cards. On the other hand, some beginners prefer to take more risk and have dark marks or use pre-marked luminous marks which "glow".
Be aware of the fact that Ultra-Luminous marks look like grey shadows on your cards, as shown in the video below. While the "Glowing" effect of other luminous marked cards look pretty, they have other downsides. NU-CONcept sells BOTH Ultra-Luminous systems and the "Glowing" Luminous pre-marked cards. We will be happy to discuss the pros and cons with each customer, so they can decide which technology is best for their work environment.

NOTE: The Video on the left is Ultra-Luminous depicting grey shadows, while the 2 photos on the right are the "Glowing" style luminous pre-marked cards. If you want the "Glowing" pre-marked cards, NU-CONcept does sell them ONLY when requested due to known advantages and disadvantages.

Summary
As you can see Ultra-luminous is designed for the true professional who wants the "best of the best" and can afford it.
Note: Since it is likely that Ultra-luminous is too expensive for most customers, NU-CONcept suggests using the Regular NU-CONcept luminous marker ($109) and gimmicking your own sunglasses by using the included filter material OR you may purchase the NU-CONcept optional Regular Luminous sunglass lenses ($99 for customers who buy the regular luminous marker or $120 for customers who want to buy the lenses without the regular luminous marker).
It is important to note that the Regular Luminous Marker may only be used on red backed, paper plying cards. If you need to mark other color cards or plastic cards, then we suggest using Juice or N-Dust (which is the latest Juice technology).
N-Dust, Juice Dust (TM) or Juice Markers are excellent for customers who do not want to wear gimmicked sunglasses and are available in formulas which work on paper based cards as well as KEM/Copag/Gemaco/Modiano 100% plastic cards. (Please explore the NU-CONcept web site for details.)
NU-CONcept solutions have been evolving for over 30 years and offers the finest solutions on the market.
